  I had total shoulder replacement surgery performed at Concordia Hospital on October 2, 2017 and am very satisfied with the care given by all staff. Very positive experience provided by a caring and well oiled machine. My thanks to all involved.

  I just received a call from the Chief Medical Examiners office today (Nov. 25) telling me that my wife died from congestive heart failure, which I believe was caused by the fluid on her heart.

  I waited in the emergency room for over 3 hours with my wife while she endured chronic head and jaw pain, tears streaming down her face from pain, and no one would see us. Multiple people ahead of us who were in seemingly less pain were allowed in ahead. Either a lack of doctors or a lack of caring was the issue. Honestly the worst experience we've had at a hospital.Very slow.

  My wife was in and out of Concordia Hospital starting on October 7th, 2017, for one week, then again October 18th - 26th. After guessing what was causing my wife's pain, they came to the conclusion that she had pneumonia, with fluid on the lungs and heart. They attempted to extract fluid from the lung...first time was unsuccessful, then second time was to get a bit of fluid and test it. The second time she was in the hospital, they gave her some pain medication and Naproxen for the inflammation. The hospital discharged my wife on October 26th. Said things didn't look bad...the fluid wasn't getting better, but it wasn't getting any worse...their words. They did at one point try to send her to HSC, but HSC said my wife wasn't "sick enough".

  To make a long story short, on November 3rd, I came home from work only to find my wife had died on the couch...and from the looks of it, she may have passed away shortly after I left for work that morning.

  I'm not a doctor, but I saw how my wife was being treated (or lack of treatment) in that hospital. I cannot explain how disgusted I am at that hospital...but it's difficult to hold a grudge when I'm still grieving.
