  It's currently the coldest night of the year in Winnipeg, and we're away on vacation. Our neighbour checked on the house and it was getting colder. We called shorty's, and even though they were busy, the person on call (Kevin Demello) took the time needed to fix the problem and save our house, as I am convinced the pipes would have burst otherwise. He could have given up, as we have a weirdly complex boiler system but he didn't. He already worked overtime at our place and had another place to go after ours. We previously used a different company who couldn't fix this longstanding issue but will stick with Shorty's from now on.

  We hired Shorty's to move a shower drain, toilet plumbing, and sink connection in a basement bathroom in order for a renovation to be done. After the work was completed, the city inspector arrived and failed it. There were a number of parts that were not done to code, and would have resulted in sewer gas leaking into the bathroom. Another plumber was sent to correct the mistakes. We then waited two weeks for another city inspection. When the renovator began finishing the bathroom, he informed us that the toilet was still the wrong distance from the wall, and the shower drain was not in the requested spot. Yet another plumber was sent by Shorty's to move the toilet drain, and to avoid breaking up the concrete surrounding the shower drain yet again, we spent the extra money to have a custom shower base made. At no time did Shorty's send a supervisor to check on the work, and it was left to us to communicate with a secretary, who would then dispatch a new plumber to correct the ongoing problems. We were very disappointed by the work performed, and would definitely not hire them again.

  Our house is slightly older, and the main bathroom has a toilet with a 10 inch rough-in (if I measured correctly). Spent many months trying to locate a proper low-flow replacement. After limited success, I contacted Shorty's for a quote. Their price was decent, and they offered a good brand name toilet.

  My outdoor water tap began to leak the other day, so I decided to call Shorty's Plumbing, as I have seen their vehicles in the neighbourhood on numerous occasions. Boy did I make the right choice. Kevin arrived on time and got right to the task at hand.As it turned out I required a few more repairs and once again Kevin was more than willing to go that little extra. It is very evident that Kevin takes pride in his work and is a true professional. Kevin represents Shorty's Plumbing very well. All repairs were completed in a timely fashion and in a professional manner. I would not hesitate to call Shorty's Plumbing in the future. Thanks Keven!

  Shorty's gave the best service. The guys were polite and pleasant and professional. They installed our new furnace and even with a few hick ups remained calm and pleasant. The fellow that came to inspect from hydro was very satisfied with the install. I would definitely use Shorty's again.

  That was three months ago, and the toilet has been working fine since day one; no flushing issues after downgrading from a 13L to a 6L flush. Very happy with Shorty's work. I am considering them again to replace the basement toilet too.

  When they arrived to install it, everything went smoothly with removing the old toilet and installing the new one. The guy even kept a decent conversation while working, and answered all my questions.
